This screen stores address information, notes, and other information specific to the individuals or companies entered, and is referenced by every SYSPAC application. (Screen shown condensed)

ENTER THE SEARCH STRING
To eliminate the chance of adding a record more than once, you are required to first search for the record at the ENTER THE SEARCH STRING prompt. Your options are described below:
If ID is known:
If the record ID is known, enter the ID followed by a period at the SEARCH STRING prompt to display the information for that record without conducting a cross-reference search. Examples:
SMIJOH. or 012345.
If ID is unknown:
If the ID is unknown, enter beginning characters of the last name or company name on which to search and press the RETURN key. NOTE:
If the record information exists in UPPER case and you search for the name in Lower Case, the record will not be found.
Once the cross-reference list has been displayed, you may enter the number corresponding with your selection, scroll forward or backward, search again, or enter NEW to add a new record.
ENTER (LN#,LN#F,F,B,EX,END,???,NEW) >
If searching on specific characters, a cross-reference list will display with the option line shown above. Enter F or B to scroll forward/backward or enter the number of lines to scroll forward followed by an "F" (5F).
If no records were found for the search string entered, you will be prompted: NO CROSS REFERENCE FOR THIS STRING. Enter ??? to search on other characters or NEW to enter a new record.
If the desired record is shown on the cross-reference list, enter the corresponding line number to display the record. If the desired record is not shown, and does not exist in the address master, enter NEW to enter a new record. If the desired record is not shown and you want to search on other characters, enter ??? to redisplay the SEARCH STRING prompt.
To cross-reference existing records by class code:
To display a list of IDs by class code, enter a period followed by the class code at the SEARCH STRING prompt. Example: .EMP (All records classified with a code beginning with EMP will list to the screen allowing you to select one to view on the address master screen).
