Check Inquiry


This routine allows the user to view an entire check record and all of its transactions on one screen, quickly, and without additional printouts. This is a time-saving feature, which can be used while on the phone, etc. This option is found on the A/P main menu.

BANK ACCOUNT ID (???)

Enter the bank account ID, or enter ??? to display a list of valid bank account IDs. The bank account ID entered or selected from the list must match the ID used for the original check.

CHECK #, EX, END, SEARCH=???

Enter the check number, and the check information will display for review. If the check number is unknown, enter ??? to search. You are then prompted for the Vendor ID, on which you may also search. Instructions for the search prompts are described in the next paragraph. Once a vendor has been entered or selected, a list of checks is displayed with the most recent checks shown first. Enter the corresponding line number to make a selection, enter F or B to view additional lines, or enter EX or END to exit the display.

VENDOR ID, SEARCH=???, EX, END

Enter the vendor ID. If unknown, enter ??? to search. At the SEARCH STRING prompt, enter the beginning characters of the last name or company name on which to search. You may select a vendor from the cross-reference list displayed.

INQUIRE (1-2, GL=GL DIST, EX, END)

Enter 1 to access the Reference field, enter 2 to access Invoice Payment information, or enter GL to display General Ledger Distributions. To view Expense or Adjustment distributions, enter 2 then enter the line number corresponding with the appropriate invoice. You may then enter EXP to view Expense G/L Distributions or enter ADJ to view Adjustment G/L Distributions.
